Get a free upgrade to the Hitman 1 GOTY edition on Epic Game Store (valid for owners of the regular version on Epic)

The regular version was given away for free sometime last year on the Epic Game store. If you claimed a copy back then, you can get a free upgrade to the Game of The Year edition. Follow the steps below to get your copy.

1) You must first own Hitman 3 (full title, or the starter pack, which is currently free)

(There is no need to actually download it. Just add it to your shopping cart and check out.)

2) Go to the HITMAN 3 Access Pass: HITMAN 1 GOTY Edition page

3) You'll see the full price listed but if you click on BUY NOW and it will be 100% discounted. Checkout as usual.

Note you can also play Hitman 1 GOTY Edition within Hitman 3!

I followed those steps (and got Hitman last year), but it's not showing up discounted at all when I try to check out. Oh well.

Yeah I did, and the add-on still shows as $19.99 in the cart. Not that it's a big deal - it'd just be one more game in my library I'd probably never get around to playing.

um.. are you selecting the Hitman 2 one by accident? that one is $19.99. the Hitman 1 one is $14.99.

Whoops. I was going to the HITMAN - Game of the Year Edition page and using the upgrade DLC there. Your link worked, thanks!

Um, I followed the link at the top of the Hitman 3 page that said "Get the HITMAN 3 Access Pass: HITMAN 1 GOTY Edition DLC for FREE at checkout if you own HITMAN GOTY" and that took me to the Hitman GOTY page I found, which didn't give the discount.

I was not. I thought that might be the case, but I couldn't get it installed last night, as I was short on destination drive space.

I did get it installed and running last night. No carry over of progress, but I'm fine starting over, since there is some default key changes.

I tried playing that 3 out of 10 game, for about 30-40 minutes. It's quite possible that my tastes have changed, but I could not get into this at all. Didn't even chuckle at any of the obviously funny (in theory) parts. And I am an EASY laugh! :D

Slick interface, nice, sharp graphics, and I normally love even barely above average adventure games, but this one didn't even reach that bar. Reviews are solid, so it's very possibly me.

It looks like Sludge Life is currently free, also, although I already have it in my library, so it was presumably given away previously.

I dunno about that. I managed to complete Hand of Fate 2, but I distinctly recall the mid- to late-game devolving into banal drudgery, overflowing with tedious repetition of the least enjoyable aspect of the game (i.e. real-time combat against increasing numbers of the same foes you've already fought and defeated countless times before). Which is a shame, because the adventure quests and "living board game" side of the game tend to be much more interesting and compelling than the tiresome combat you must slog through in order to complete them.

Definitely not. That said, it's worth at least trying with a price tag of free. But if you stick with it through to the mid- to late-game, I guarantee you'll reach a point where the necessary combat against the same tiresome varieties of foes becomes an exasperating trial of perseverance.
