What theme are you using?
I tried black. Looks great, but subsliver felt more PHPish. Had to stick with it.

I use subsilver, I've just gotten used to it. Though if we create a theme that is darker, but not black I'll switch to that.

He said it! Black. Bright lights in my eyes give me a nasty headache, and SubSilver felt like staring at a lightbulb.setaside wrote:The color scheme with the black is hurting my eyes (polar opposite of Blackhawk it seems) so I'm sticking with subsilver for now.

Couldn't keep the black theme. Ended up going back to SubSilver. Although, a deep purple and aqua theme would be great.

I couldn't deal with something *so* similar to our last web forum. I like the fact that sub silver (despite three boards I frequent using it) is so different from that last site. This place has a different feel to me, and I'd hate to ruin that free-as-a-bird feeling I get here. Fortunately I'm not as linked to the colors out of mechanical reasons (such as Blackhawk or setaside) that I can let my more esoteric feelings decide which to use.

i'm using 'subsilver' right now. i tried the black theme, but the yellow in every thread title is a little bright in my opinion...a little bit too much contrast against the black. i generally prefer darker themes because they're easier on the eyes than white, but i think i prefer the silver/gray scheme here.
there are a few really nice 'neutral' color schemes over at the phpBB style demo site that are more along the lines of what i prefer. Aeolus, bsrf, DarkSky, and DustyGreen all look pretty good in my opinion...colors that aren't too bright, yet still provide good contrast that makes them easy to read.

I use subsilver but haven't tried the black until just now. The yellow is a bit too bright so back to subsilver I go. I guess once you go black, you really can go back...

kept the subsilver. I've never liked black backgrounds.
I like this style here at the phpBB boards - DAJ Glass
It's very clean with nice colors and a strong readable contrast.
