1. Mike Richards (The Jeopardy producer that had to fill in for two weeks)
2. Ken Jennings
3. Katie Couric
4. Dr. Oz (Personally, he was about on par with Couric, but so many vocal people hate him online that he ends up on the bottom.)

Rodgers hasn't done enough yet. Assuming he gets better with reps, he'll easily pass the last two.
My personal list is:
1. Ken Jennings
2. Mike Richards
------------
3. Katie Couric
4. Dr. Oz
5. Aaron Rogers

Rogers has no shot to move up. Just too monotone and wooden. Above the line could be the regular host although I did like Katie but didn't think I'd like her in the role long term. I much preferred Jennings to Mike Richards and I got the feeling Mike didn't want to do the job anyway. He also executive produces Wheel of Fortune so it might be a lot for him.

Bill Belichick turns 69 today - and somewhere Gronk is smiling and doesn't know why.

Alex Smith just retired.

Glad he got to play a bit more before the end.

Big sigh of relief. I cringed every time he dropped back. He proved he could defy reality, that's good enough.

The NFL relaxing its rules means there are certain groups who can now opt to wear single-digit jersey numbers. Previously, only quarterbacks, punters and kickers could have single digits. Now, that's been expanded to include tight ends, wide receivers, running backs and defensive backs.

Why does the NFL have rules restricting player jersey numbers by position at all?

To easily identify eligible receivers on offense. No idea on defense.

So, the Eagles traded out of Pick 6 and moved back to 12. Defensible move, even if it does mean they'll likely miss out on one of the top WRs.

But now, I'm hearing they're trying to work a deal to move up from 12 and get back in the top 10.

We'll see how it all works out, but, given past draft history, I am far from optimistic.

The #Panthers are trading QB Teddy Bridgewater to the #Broncos for a sixth-round draft pick, per source.

So Carolina will be grabbing a QB at the #8 pick, and presumably Denver will not at #9.

I saw that. Wanting is not getting, but where the heck could he end up? And what team would neglect to draft a QB in hopes of taking a shot at Rodgers.

Could you imagine Rodgers running Kyle Shanahan designed bootlegs for the rest of his career? It would be pretty amazing.

I know Travis Etienne got all the hype due to playing at Clemson, but I have a hard time believing he's going to be a better NFL RB than Javonte Williams from UNC. Just look at the numbers from last year:

Williams- 157 attempts 1,140 yards 7.3 avg 19 tds 25 rec 305 yards 12.2 avg 3 tds

Etienne - 168 attempts 914 yards 5.4 avg 14 tds 48 rec 588 yards 12.3 avg 2 tds

And then consider that Etienne was playing behind a better line and with an arguably better QB (that's another discussion) against pretty much the same opposition.

This does leave out that Etienne's sophomore and junior seasons featured over 1600 yards rushing and at least 23 rushing touchdowns.

My understanding is that the main concerns are: (1) he's not as naturally athletic as the other top-tier QB prospects; and (2) he played with arguably the most talented offensive college team of all time (especially the Alabama receiver corps). So basically the question is whether he's really good, or whether Alabama's success was more the result of having incredibly talented wide receivers. And if he's not, he doesn't have pure physical gifts to fall back on.

Still seems like a worthwhile prospect to me.

I know that it's a combination of spending multiple draft picks to trade up and pick up an OSU QB (such a legendary history in the NFL), but I'm actually good with this. I've had the displeasure of watching him in college for a couple of years, and I think he's going to be really, really good in the NFL. (Bookmark this post to come back at me with in a few years.)

No snark intended, but I'm just glad they didn't pull anything like that to get Trey Lance. He might end up being really good, but he seems a huge gamble at the third pick, particularly when he likely would have still been available at a much lower slot. The Niners are really taking this Ryan Pace simulation a bit too far.

I feel a little bad for Zach Wilson getting picked at #2 to the Jets. He's was a decent college QB, but he primarily racked up big numbers against terrible competition and was fairly mediocre against any team with a pulse. In games against teams that ended the season with 10+ wins, Wilson went 0-5 with 1 TD and 7 INTs. In his two games against rival Utah, he threw more TD's to Utah (3 pick 6's) than he did to his own team (2 TD passes).

The Jets are hoping for the next Josh Allen, but I'm afraid he'll be closer to Johnny Manziel (without the character issues). Maybe I'm just biased because he's from BYU, but I just don't see him being the next big thing.

As I hoped for earlier, I am joyful that teams fell over themselves to draft largely marginal quarterbacks, allowing Slater to fall to the Chargers. Since four teams (at least) ranked Mac Jones the fifth best QB in this draft, I just jumped on the mock wagon.

Yeah, he is getting Brady comparisons. But you know, just because one not super athletic QB became a hall-of-famer, doesn't necessarily mean that you should regularly draft not super athletic QBs.

Anyway, I'm excited about Jones, even though the prevailing wisdom seems to be down on him at the moment.

I wouldn’t say disappointed. Skeptical maybe? I get like Matt Leinart vibes from him. How hard is it to play QB in college when you are on a super team? The playmakers he had in college are significantly better than what will be around him in NE (except at TE).

But he’s the most pro ready QB this year they say. The last time I heard that it was applied to Josh Rosen.

I wouldn’t be disappointed, but I wouldn’t be excited either.
