Watched the pilot tonight. I haven't read the thread yet because spoilers, but this show is already a winner. Will get caught up in a couple of days.

Likewise, OO effect. Mayor Snowflake, indeed.

Last night's episode (#4) was so damn good. I'm having a hard time imagining anyone else in the lead role, other than Alan Tudyk at this point.

This show delivers! Every time I see D'arcy I think of Amy Adams.

Another great episode. They seemed to have dropped the plot point from a few weeks ago
Spoiler:
The Alien hunters
but everything else is so enjoyable, I don't even care. Comparing a woman to warm ham? Hilarious.

I dont watch shows but did skim this one online. He seems to have been here a few weeks at the least or months at most yet they didn't send a second device .

We don't really have a concept of time (I'm an episode behind) yet, except that he's hinted he left a family at home to come do this thing. It could have taken him 20 years to get here. I may have missed something, though.

Tudyk managed to play both a likeable guy who was sadly killed, and a somewhat likeable alien who killed him and stole his identity this last episode. He’s so damn good in this show.
“Monster is a cheese, right.”
Oh...and “I’m definitely f’ing with him.”
I find myself laughing out loud at least 2 or 3 times an episode. Sometimes more. That’s really rare.

The line about the buddhist who felt pain was terrible and I laugh every time I think about it.

I must admit to being confused by
Spoiler:
Harry the alien says his wife died and that’s why he left, but in this last episode he expounds on how his people don’t love or form families.

Spoiler:
My take is that since his race doesn't have the same emotions perhap they'll form mate-pairings specifically to continue the species. Perhaps biologically driven impulses but it isn't love.

Then they would be polygamists if it were purely a biological imperative, I would think.

I wanna say a name to answer that soooo bad but it would be political. But we can all guess who Id say married to sex it and not love it and had kids.

Polygamy is a sentient being construct. In nature, it's polyamory.

They’re sentient beings. I don’t see many squirrels or raccoons with a space program.

I have no idea why this bothers me. I have like 4 prescriptive grammar bagaboos, generally accepting that language changes over time and this is good, but Spock's redefining sentience for the entire language gets me every time. I bet English wasn't even his first language.

Argh, cliffhanger!
Still, I really like
Spoiler:
the competing alien storyline. At least I think it’s a different alien race. The tie in to Linda Hamilton’s character was nicely done.

It's nice they figured out a way to bring old friends together - a tradition for any show either is in (seemingly).
Spoiler:
Captain tight pants was the voice of the Octopus
Always a treat when those two interact. The last time this happened was last season of the Rookie (I think). Regardless, this show continues to deliver and it's a highlight of my mid-week.

Spoiler:
Harry (to Asta): Are you waiting for a bus?
Asta: I'm thinking.
Harry: Buddhist monks believe that suffering comes from the thinking mind. They can also train their minds not to feel pain; one of them lit himself on fire. I bet that one felt pain.

And of course
“Mr, Wagner went to prison for looking like that.”
What was the context of that?
Oh yeah, the mustache...
Pedophiles and firemen only have them in Harry’s mind.

Didn't see this current plot arc coming. With only two episodes left, I'm kinda curious where it ends up. Lisa - the woman that works for the general is...kinda scary.

Yeah I love that they are keeping the main story arc moving along so quickly, yet still find time for touching character moments and small story arcs for all the side characters. This is really a fantastic show on all levels, I really hope (edit)
Woohoo!!!!!! Well deserved, thanks SyFy for not terminating a good show.

I’m glad they expounded on Harry’s alien wife. I had some questions about that a few weeks back and they did a nice job of filling in the cracks I thought they had.
This seems like the kind of show that if Syfy did cancel it, it would get picked up by another broadcast entity. It’s become a rather large fan favorite at this point.

I suspect that she's a lizard person. Harry confirmed their existence tonight and marked them as the baddies.

I thought he was just making it up from BS on the internet, but that would make sense.
