What does New England have to trade? Are they giving up Belichick?

You know, Jarrett Stidham is pretty good.

We could also throw in Cam Newton as part of a sign-and-trade. That's a thing in football, right? Anyway, former #1 pick! Made a Super Bowl, unlike that no good Watson that we would be taking off of Houston's hands.

Hrothgar wrote: Fri Feb 12, 2021 3:04 pm I don't see how the Texans trade Watson. If Houston loses Watt, Hopkins and Watson in a year, there will be a fan revolt.
If they get a Pro Bowl & Super Bowl NFL Starting QB who is only 26, two first round picks and a third round pick in exchange, they might do it.

Wentz to the Colts . . . for one 2021 third round pick and one 2022 conditional second round pick.

The Eagles were so hosed. Colts had all the leverage. Eagles really shat the bed on this. People in Philly are going to lose their minds: A 2021 3rd round pick and a conditional 2022 second? The last offer I saw was for two 2021 second round picks, and people were still pissed about that.

And Wentz kind of screwed them too: The Bears were reportedly offering a much better package, but Wentz refused to go there. That dude will be persona non grata in Philadelphia from here on out.

The Bears were only offering six first round draft picks and a conditional grandson of Walter Payton. I guess he didn't want to play under the same pressure Cutler did after the Bears last traded a decade worth of future for a QB.

Yeah, but due to previous QB acquisitions, the earliest the Bears could offer any first round picks was for 2031.

Unsurprisingly, Washington expected to release Alex Smith.

Says he still wants to play, Chicago seems to be the projected landing spot for him.

Well, if the Bears don't have to give up any draft picks for him, I can only assume they will give him a giant, fully-guaranteed contract.

I'm thinking you give up 4 draft picks to the Jets to move in the draft and get Mac Jones 2nd after Jacksonville picks Lawrence first.

Something worthy of a Mike Glennon, no doubt.

I think ILB already covered this. The Jets would be waiting until 2036 to collect.

Dammit! The Saints cut punter Thomas Morestead. He was one of my favorites. Still, can't complain about a 12-year NFL career.

Steelers re-sign Big Ben, assuring another year of failure.

Oh, and they cut Juju Smith. Maybe the Chargers can give him a look.

Really would like that to form into more than just a mental tease.

I don’t want Smith. I want Wilson.

The impressive part of that box jump to me is the landing. He's flat on his feet. No tippy toes, no flailing around for balance. He lands the way I'd expect if he simply hopped forward a yard.

At this point, the Wilson - Bears rumor seems based on an alleged list of teams he agreed to be traded to, and Tribune columnist Brad Biggs getting all orgasmic over the Bears apparently being one of them. I haven't seen any real indication he wants to leave Seattle or that Seattle is inclined to trade him. And what would the Bears offer?

He’s getting the shit beat out of him in Seattle and he’s been very public about how unhappy he is about the lack of protection.

Ah, it makes sense. If there's one thing Chicago is known for, it's their tolerance and adoration of our quarterbacks.

I don't know how good the Bear's O'line is but the Raider's O'line is excellent. Because the Raiders basically suck, I assumed that's what wilson was looking at when he made his choices.

The Bears offensive line looked credible when they had a mobile QB (Trubinsky) and like poor imitations of speed bumps when they did not (Foles).

Pats sign TE Hunter Henry (mistake by the Chargers to let him go) and a Football Team signs Ryan Fitz(magic?). Might just work in the NFC East.

In general the Patriots are going on an unprecedented (for them) FA spending spree. I hope that they're not just overreacting to season 1 of the Patriots / Brady split.

Looking forward to the Nick Foles/Andy Dalton QB battle.

And because they didn't have to trade with anyone to get Dalton, the Bears have announced they will be sitting out the first three rounds of this year's draft.

It was a rough season for the Seahawks offensive line. there was only like 5 games using the starters. Its hard to jell when its a different bunch nearly every week.

But Wilson is pulling in 19m a year, thats sucking up a lot of dough. there is no salary room for another allpro lineman.

But most important. Shaquill Griffin is leaving Seattle and going to Jacksonville. And it really looks like Shaquem is going with him. That makes me sad, because Shaquem is my favorite player.

Amazing to see Trent Williams get the biggest deal of the offseason so far. And biggest ever for an offensive lineman.

I know he's the best LT in the league. And I was kind of hoping he'd come back to Washington. But if he's gonna make that kind of money (6 years, $138M, $55.1M guaranteed), maybe not.

And that's half of what Dak Prescott is pulling down.

They will pick up another Caleb Haney. Neither Dalton or Foles will do dick, making the 3rd QB look good by comparison. That QB will end up starting long after the season is hopeless, and prove to just be another Caleb Haney.

Now we just need some defensive help in the backfield and we should be ok.
