“These are programs that are long overdue and are utterly necessary if the B-52 is going to be able to execute what we need it to do in today’s — and last into the future’s — strategic environment,” she said.
But Maj. Gen. Jason Armagost is a man. ?

No, this means you just need to brush up on how ellipses work, i.e. see section (1) below:

When I use ellipses between paragraphs, it means I jumped over one or more grafs and broke continuity.

Ellipses within a sentence or between sentences follow the standard rules.

One of my aerospace co-workers back in the early 1990s had recently worked on a B-52 project, and I thought it odd back then that he was working on such an old aircraft. :D

My current company has a current contract involving the B-52. I think they're actually doing the work in the same building where I work, but I'm not 100% certain of that.

Wow.

I know they get engine and avionics upgrades from time to time, but apparently the *youngest* B-52 airframe in service is about 60 years old. Today's B-52s were built when Eisenhower and JFK were presidents.

I was shocked to learn that this is not a "Ship of Theseus" scenario. The fuselages and wings and etc of these planes are all original.

Yeah, the stuff my company is doing with the B-52 is all electronics.

I saw a meme of a B-52 Stratofortress with Star Trek first generation engine pods sticking out of it's fuselage. Thought that was really funny, wish I could find it.

Vasili would have been proud to know that this was first installed on the USS Montana.

I worked on B-52s when I was in the air force. They were an older version than those in service now.

Army takes delivery of first M10 Booker Combat Vehicle

The U.S. Army christened its newest combat vehicle, the M10 Booker, on April 18, 2024, during a ceremony at Aberdeen Proving Ground. The M10 Booker represents a new, modernized capability for the Army, allowing light maneuver forces to overmatch adversaries.

In June 2023, the Army announced the vehicle platform was named to honor two enlisted Army Soldiers who served our nation selflessly during times of great conflict — Medal of Honor recipient Pvt. Robert D. Booker, who perished in World War II; and Distinguished Service Cross recipient Staff Sgt. Stevon A. Booker, who died from injuries sustained in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
...
The M10 Booker has a maximum speed of 40 miles per hour and is equipped with a 105mm M35 Primary Weapon, a 7.62mm Coax weapon, a 0.50 M2 commander’s weapon, the Abrams primary weapon sight, and two vehicles can be transported on a C-17.

Its got a cool name. Bout time the army had a fieldable light tank. I like it. If the Bradley can take out tanks then this thing should have no problem in the new world of today and fit in well. I would wish the 7.62 was remotely controlled from within the hull though. Isn't it about time we stopped opening up our tanks to God knows whats out there and stay safe in a sealed compartment vehicle?

A coaxial mount, pioneered on T1 Light Tank in late 1920s and widely adopted by late 1930s, is mounted beside or above the primary weapon and thus points in the same general direction as the main armament, relying on the host weapon's ability to traverse in order to change arc.
No one mans the 7.62.

Generally you don't fire tank ammunition at squishy targets like unarmored vehicles and infantry.
It is usually used to engage infantry or other "soft" targets where use of shots from the main gun would be dangerous, ineffective or wasteful.
