Not sure if I'm being paranoid, but I was just sent a chat message and he asked me to click on a link to vote for a group of friends, related to Counter Strike:
I didn't click on the link as I suspect it would try to steal my Steam info.
Sharing here so (1) others can see it and (2) hope that I'm just being paranoid. I unfriended him as well...
EDIT: Even after unfriending, continued to send chat messages, so yeah I'm thinking he's been compromised.

I fell for it, sadly. I was suspicious because the tone was not what I’d expect from Hark, but the request seemed reasonable enough. I know he has a lot of friends I’m not familiar with and this seemed relatively benign. I don’t generally mind helping vote for stuff for people.
When Steam was doing its checks, it said something about Russia, so I believe that’s where it’s originating from.
I actually chatted with him after this. Apparently steam chat doesn't use the same security as main steam because his main accoubt wasn't compromised.i verified it was him by asking where i knew him from. He said gg and one other thing. I asked about here and he said he has an account but doesn't use it much.

I didn't see it until mych later and by then he had his account back.

See, I would just assume that the hacker fished that gg information from someone else, in the same way you just gave the hacker the information about OO.
Well after verifying him he didn't ask for anything. Plus i just asked him whete i knew him from so he didn't really have a way of knowing i even knew about gg.
He's lucky i even remember gg in the first place.
