What should the permanent name of "Unreleased Games be?

Post by Jaymann »

Don't you think it's about time to get rid of the (name temporary) designation? If you have a better idea, let's see it!

I'd love to see some sort of overarching theme for all the forums. As such, I think it's sort of ox-in-front-of-the-cart to just vote on one forum at a time.

What I'd love to see would be for folks to propose an entire theme of names.

How about 'moved to the metaforum' :P

along the lines of ND, I think "Temporary holding place until we move it to the correct forum" is an apropos title. :)

If we go the full-blown octopi route, I'll vote for "Lurking in the Depths."

Really, I just wanted to test out the cool avatar Capt. Caveman picked out for me.

I like this. Someone should flesh out the other forum names in the same theme.

Of course, we'd have to be smart about the descriptive text to go with each forum, but that's not a bad idea in general.

Shipping to the meta forum.

I think coming up with "themed" names for everything would be difficult. But a worthy endeavor in any case. Lurking in the Depths is pretty damn good.

I'll quote myself from the last thread where this came up -- when it was suggested to stick to an H.P. Lovecraftian theme.
I'm pretty sure you could rename the religion and politics forum "At the Mountains of Madness" and everyone would know what you were talking about.

And "The Lurking Fear" is what the guys at EB experience when I creep around their store looking games that haven't been released yet.

I find it at least somewhat amusing that this is the only forum people are clamoring for us to rename. I guess it's just because it's the only one that's shown as "temporary", but it's not like "PC Gaming in General" or "Consoles" are terribly thrilling names.

Umm, I'm pretty sure the ox is supposed to be in front of the cart. Now, if your cart was in front of your ox, I'd say "WTF do you have an ox for?" ;)
I like this. Someone should flesh out the other forum names in the same theme.
This project intrigues me. I'll see what I can come up with... after I find you your answers about OOTP cash of course, Neal.

Ok, I'll get the theme rolling:

PC Gaming in General = Games suck
PC Games by Titles = Games that suck
Unreleased Games = Games that will suck
Consoles = PC games suck
Multiplayer = Games with gamers that suck

Everything but Gaming = Life sucks
Religion & Politics = Your opinion sucks
General Computing = My computer sucks
Trade Forum = Getting rid of stuff that sucks
The Bargain Bin = Stuff that is cheap, probably because it sucks

Metaforum = We all suck!

What exactly is wrong with "Unreleased Games"?

Although going with the Lovecraft theme would be cool, it might confuse people. Of course if that is the point, then go for it!

The Evil Clergyman, that is what I would use for the R&P forum. Another good one might be the crazed prohpet Abdul Alhazred's Necronomicon! :twisted:

are we there yet?

PC Gaming in General = PC Gaming is dying.
PC Games by Titles = It's all about WoW.
Unreleased Games = Someone still making games for PC?
Consoles = The Future is here.
Multiplayer = PWNED U

Everything but Gaming = Boring stuff with occasional nudity.
Religion & Politics = It is all about trolling.
General Computing = You need luck to get help posting your problem here.
Trade Forum = Just a step above pirates.
The Bargain Bin = You know things like those deer hunting games.

Metaforum = We celebrate the BANNING.
