We're shaking things up a bit to avoid complacency, and because variety is the spice of life. We've moved a lot of the moderation assignments around (although just try tearing Bakhtosh and EvilHomer3k out of that General Computing forum!), plus, of course, Peacedog and I will still be able to wreak havoc in any forum.
The one "addition" isn't really a new guy. Rip has kindly volunteered to moderate this here Meta Forum. Since he's hosting the site and knows a lot of the technical stuff, this seemed like the perfect fit.
What does this change mean to you? Hopefully, nothing. We'll still have the same philosophies, and we'll still be backing each other up in forums where we're not listed as mods. Why am I announcing it then? Because I haven't made an announcement post in a while, and I felt like it. Do you have a problem with that? Tough. Will I stop asking questions now? Yes.
