I've now got KVMIP access to the console of our server for 24 hours. I am going to bring the server down today at 1400hrs eastern and poke around in the bios etc. It may be up/down a few times during this window, so please don't be alarmed!
I will shutdown the board with a maintenance notification around 1345hrs if possible to give people a heads up on what's going on.
(This is all assuming my day job doesn't get in the way.. I may reschedule to earlier/later if required.).

Nooooooo! Somebody dig up the Gaming Trend thread - I can't go minutes without OO!
Or maybe I'll be busy at 2 PM. Yeah, I might be. I really should be.

If you're like me and would have to google it: KVMIP is a "system [that] allows you to control one or many computers locally at the server site or remotely via the Internet using a standard browser."

Done for now.. Found more stuff via console that indicated an NCQ issue with the kernel; and some kernel blacklists had this model of WDC drive.
Anyways I turned off NCQ in the Kernel and modified the RC files to do it at boot; so we should be ok.. I hope.. I'll keep an eye on it.

So far so good.. Looks like it really may have been the NCQ setting on the hard drive. Go figure. Talk about a poorly implemented standard between manufacturers (hell even between models from the same manufacturer).
