Heres some pics of my character from my 2017 final save. I think it will be easier to start with him for the two DLC because he is lvl 35, has the best weapons and armors and has all his skills set that I should be able to relearn easy.

My two biggest problems with this save is relearning the controls which should come back to me and the worst part...inventory items. I have NO idea why I kept all this stuff in my inv and my stash. I must have had a reason. I suppose I could just sell delete and drop it all and go into the DLCs with an empty INV...but may be stuff I could use for potions and such in there. I may try to throw it all in my stash but I think I remember it having a item limit...shall see.

Onto the pics! Just posting the main armor piece as they are all the mastercrafted wolf stuff. I finished the game before having it all then went and completed all pieces and weapons before making my final save and deleting the game in 2017.

EDIT: I just now noticed its saying something about Grandmaster gear..I thought my mastercrafted was the best. Hmm..have to look into that.

Ok seems the stashes have unlimited capacity. Nice. Also some items have no weight like crafting stuff. Also nice. But I also need room in my own carry inv so its all going in the stash until I need it. Sweet.

Can the runewright in the DLC be ignored? As you can see in my previous post I have about the best weapons you can get..they are master crafted and rune enchanted. One glows blue and the other purple. They do 350 - 500 damage. The runewright wants 5000 for the first upgrades then 10,000 then 15,000 and there may be a 25,000 version not sure. I am lvl 36 I think and have a total of a little over 7000 on me. It would take all that for the first round. I dont see it being worth it but then again I dont know what he can actually do. I think I had 35,000 or so before I finished the original game but spent almost all of it on these swords and their enchantments before the DLC was even a thing.

Nice. Make sure to wear those at night and indoors, too, lol.

Don't remember about the runewright, sorry. I think I got one or two upgrades from there but just didn't have the patience to grind more gold as I was able to get through the content just fine without them.

I collected his first set of diagrams and paid for the tool set but Im not using him actually. Im happy with my master wolf gear. Like the look and Im guessing that those years ago when I made it all and added all the stuff I picked good stats.

I know Blood & Wine DLC for W3 is supposed to be amazing but this first one, Hearts of Stone, is pretty damn cool itself. I just went through a haunted mansion and summoned that immortal guy's dead wife's ghost. Her spectral corpse made a painting and now Im in it with a talking cat and dog.

And no Im not drunk or high.

Heart of Stone is a great add-on, but Blood and Wine is on a different level. It's practically another whole game worth of content, with a story that rivals W3. Believe me, if you enjoy the rest of the game, it's not something that you want to miss.

Oh I wont. I finished the main game around 2016 and started this first DLC just a week ago. Soon as I finish it Im off to B&W next.

I've been trying to go thru the icons on my desktop and finish games that are installed.
This is one of those games I've been meaning to wrap up.
I go back to it every once in awhile, but pretty quickly lose interest for some reason.

Heart of Stone is one of my favorite stories of all-time; it’s truly tragic and could be an O Henry tale.

I grew to like Dijkstra from the main game. Wish I had made different choices so he could be here in the DLCs some way.

Its weird how a game can make you start thinking or feeling. Im coming to the end of the first DLC Hearts of Stone. The way the music and the graphics set the mood in these games is amazing. More than any other game. I was just in the pub where the time stuff and the spoon play out. Those who have played it know what I mean. Makes ya wonder on just how insignificant one is. Also the haunted estate has its own vibe going on. Draws ya in it does.

Finished Hearts of Stone. Very good indeed. In the end my good Geralt ended up saving the man and solving it all. Unfortunately I did die once in the end stuff so on reload I rushed straight to the end area and forgot to stop and grab that poisoned silver sword Id grabbed my first try through. Damnit.

EDIT: Still have that nice silver sword at the end on my mind today because I think its better than my mastercrafted wolf school one. I think Ill reload a save there at the end and go back and get it then have that runewright enchant it. Along with the steel sword you're given too I think Ill be set for blood & wine.

Blood & Wine has started out strong and interesting. Ive just met an old friend and I think from here I can venture away from the main quest line for now and take up the various side quests Ive stumbled upon. Some are above my lvl...like way above. Im 39 or 40 and Ive some that are lvl 47. Strangely some have no level listed at all. Im not sure what that means but figure they may not be lvl required so will try them.

It just gets better as you go on. Between the landscape and the stories, it's just good stuff. I got the horribly depressing ending in the base game, but this managed to cheer me up.

Well, I assume there are other endings that are more depressing, but my natural completionist tendencies got me the "good" ending.

Friggin fraggin...trying to win that combat tourney as part of the bird lady quest is tough. Ive tried 5 times so far and when you fail it just sails you through more cutscenes stuff. Then you get to reload and try again. Im doin baaad. I cant access my inv so not potions and no food and no signs. swing swing swing swing...hope for the best.

Got it! Man that music is haunting for that quest and at the pool of water.

Since this is the last of the Witcher games Im trying to take it slow. I take Roach out for rides to discover new places and points of interests. See the beautiful countryside.

Ran a lvl 48 quest last night at lvl 43 or 44. Figured it would be impossible because Ive found in the past that a quest 2 above me if so. But I actually finished it. Did die like 8 times hehe.

Ya know...thinking back on that cursed wight quest I did yesterday. Part of the curse was "no spoon shall satiate you" ...so she could never relieve her hunger with a spoon. So I wonder why she didn't just use a fork?......so now Im thinking the world of Geralt has no forks.

Well its all coming to a head now with Blood & Wine. I think Ive made my decision and chosen the ending I plan to go for.
Spoiler:
Since there seems to be no full on happy ending where the sisters and Detlaf can both be alive Im going to let him kill the mean stupid one behind it all. She used him and has been a little bitch so Ill let him kill her and him live. Then Ill watch a video about the unseen Elder Vampire as I hear thats cool too. I like Regis a lot and he is my good friend so I will try to do what is good for him.
Im sure Ill pay for this. From what little Ive read about the endings I dont consider the so called 'GOOD' ending to be the RIGHT ending.

Heh, I went with the ending where
Spoiler:
both sisters live
.

I wasn't even going for it, I just did all the quests, and, as Geralt says, "sometimes, heads just roll."

I think there was a choice at some point between letting him do some horribly awful thing (probably to a person Geralt had recently plowed) or killing him, but I don't really remember the details unfortunately. It was a pretty tough boss fight, though, even over-leveled as I was.

Ya Im over lvl'd as well but not super equipped. The bruxxa in town as me and regis are walking give me fits...the big demon gargoyle things dont but the female vamps do...regis helps with the demon things but just stands there when the girls fight :)

This DLC makes me wish for a third DLC with just me and Regis traveling together doing stuff. He is a good friend. Love the voice actor as well.

Near end...
Spoiler:
Aw shit. Im in the fairy tale land and starting to doubt my final choice. On the one hand Detlaff was used by this woman and Regis is my friend. I dont want him banished or anything. Then again this woman doesn't seem truly evil and Detlaff didn't have to murder people. He could have looked into her so called kidnapping himself. Damnit. Now Im not sure if I should keep her safe and kill Detlaff so she can reconcile with her sister or allow her to be killed and let Delaff go and keep Regis safe too. Damn stories always making impossible ending choices.

Spoiler:
Ive sat watching all endings for an hour and twenty minutes. Im just not satisfied with any of them. They are all victims in their own ways and they have also done it to themselves. Id rather see the sisters reunited AND Detlaff spared to go away. But alas I cannot get that ending. Its just a game so none of them truly matter but in my mind. Still I am affected by the story and have lived it from start to finish and wish it could be the way I wanted it to end. I think Ive changed my mind and will kill Detlaff in the end. I do not wish to do so but he will not relent in the end and thus he forces me to fight him. Regis shall endure. Couldn't make it simple could they..nooo.

Yep, I hear ya. That's how The Witcher usually goes.

In a lot of these types of scenarios in these games I tended to fall back on personal loyalty, and even though it came out sub-optimally sometimes in some kind of grand strategic sense, at least I didn't feel like a total ass.
