Full Volume of my book displayed on Media Death Cult
Hot off the presses, it is now available here.
Sorry about the big image, but when I use [bigimg] it just shows a link. Actually there will be some presses involved, as I published a paperback version which is not yet available. Don't want to spoil it, but you can read the description at the Amazon link.
If you do read it I would appreciate a review, even with criticism.
See update at the end of this thread.

I DID NOT give you permission to use the pictures I sent to you of myself, my 2 wives and my pet tiger.
I told you those were going to be used for my next romance novel, The Adventures of Lance Manyon and his trusty sidekicks, Cindy Clawford, Cat Benatar and Maynard."
Seriously, congrats.
I'll be sure to give it a read,

I like the art - it has me curious. Medieval weaponry? Décolletage? An alien head? So much happening.
Added to the list!

Here is a link to Ivan Zann (even his name is cool), the artist who did the cover. He also did the two maps in the book and is just finishing up the cover for Book 2.

Re: First Book of my Sci-fi/Fantasy Series now available on Amazon
My daughter got her paperback copy today and it came out with excellent quality.
Unfortunately some asshole who admitted he only read the preview gave me a negative review and my ranking plummeted several thousand places. My son reported him, but who knows if Amazon will do anything. It would really help if someone not related to me would post a review calling BS on that review.

I bought it a few days ago, but I haven't read it yet. Still, I wanted an early review slot, so I may have posted a placeholder that I'll edit with something more substantive later.

Wow, I got my rankings back! Maybe Amazon was paying attention on the reported review:
Best Sellers Rank: #10,021 in Kindle Store (See Top 100 in Kindle Store)
#73 in Men's Adventure Fiction (Books)
#121 in Women's Adventure Fiction (Books)
#139 in Men's Adventure Fiction (Kindle Store)
When it's all algorithm based it's hard to know what's what.

I had no idea genre’s were broken down by gender like that, especially these days!
‘Men’s adventure fiction’ That just sounds weird to me.

Re: First Book of my Sci-fi/Fantasy Series now available on Amazon
Men's adventure has been a genre for a long, long time, although it used to be a cheesy, pulp genre that evolved from the noir detective pulps and Doc Savages of the past. In the 60s - 80s, it was books that were uniformly violent, full of testosterone and sex, and had plots that were rarely more than an excuse for more violence and sex. Books like Mack Bolan were probably the classic example. Detctives, soldiers, spies, mercenaries, invariably loners, misfits, and outcasts. James Bond and Alistair MacLean were at the 'legitimate' periphery of the genre. It died out at about the same time as the old-school action film, but what was left evolved into more mainstream novels by the likes of Lee Child and, arguably, Tom Clancy.Carpet_pissr wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 11:00 am ‘Men’s adventure fiction’ That just sounds weird to me.
Also, out of curiosity, I just discovered that Mack Bolan had 631 (!) novels under that title or The Executioner, and that's not counting the spin-offs (Able Team, Phoenix Force.)
I grew up reading a lot of those. I'll go back and read one every now and then just for the laugh and nostalgia, although they rarely hold up (I actually just recently read a MacLeane's Rangers novel, which was one of my favorites almost 40 years ago, but I haven't seen since.)

Re: First Book of my Sci-fi/Fantasy Series now available on Amazon
I dont understand the thought process of someone who admits to reading the sample then rates a book on simply that. And he didn't even rate it on quality he rated it on price to pages. And didn't buy it I take it. Moron. Seems a standard price / content to me. I was paying that in the early 90s even for books I could read in one night.

Re: First Book of my Sci-fi/Fantasy Series now available on Amazon
Those categories are assigned by the key words you put in (about 60-70) during the publishing process. My son is the expert in that (based on what people search for) so he helped me. He did not intend for it to show up as "Women's adventure fiction" but the book does have some of that (especially later in the series), so I was OK with it. Again it's all established by algorithm.Carpet_pissr wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 11:00 am I had no idea genre’s were broken down by gender like that, especially these days!

Re: First Book of my Sci-fi/Fantasy Series now available on Amazon
Let me re-phrase: I certainly understand that there are target markets for books, based on gender. Guess I’m just surprised to see it overtly listed as an ‘official’ genre from the most mainstream place to buy books, in 2021.
The Conan books, for instance - certainly seem to have been written for horny pre-pubescent boys (yes, I had the whole set and read and re-read them many times), but I would be shocked to see that in the card catalog like that.

Re: Full Volume of my Sci-fi/Fantasy Series now available on Amazon
At the advice of my editor I have published my complete work as a three-part volume with a new cover available here.
Note: If you already purchased Book 1, it is also included in here. I had originally planned to publish 3 separate books, but one book of ~525 pages made more sense.
Many thanks for your interest. As always I would appreciate a rating and a review.

Well you're on your way now. That is really cool though. I bet you smiled ear to ear
I think you broke his brain on the book name though.
It must be very amazing to Google Jason Jay Hancock writer...and have the very first result be your name and book on Amazon.
