The side effect of me setting up the lobby is that I got to choose my Archfiend first. Sorry if you all were banking on Belial. :P
That's fine. I was kind of hoping the game would allow us to bid on them or something though.

I chose Andromalius, who is very pretty and therefore you should definitely trust them. Definitely.

The downside of this new version is that unlike original SI, my laptop can't run it, so I won't be able to take turns during the workday.

While this would be awesome, I can’t think of a way to do this that wouldn’t show everyone hidden information about the game!

I'll try to take and crop some screenshots at the beginning of the next turn, to show the map for easier following-along.

Very happy to see turns process last night. Not much going on now, but my intentions in claiming territory are purely peaceful and defensive. I have a nicely defensive location, so any thoughts of conquering me are foolish.

Just keep away from my stronghold and territory, and we can co-exist a while.

Other than restricting the movement of other players, is there any benefit to holding empty cantons? Just wondering if there's some bonus to prestige or anything else from having a big domain. Obviously a benefit to cut other players off from being able to reach Pandaemonium or a PoP, of course.

Prestige is awarded for territory claimed.... But I don't remember how the math works.

No screenshots today, because SI has co-opted the Steam's screenshot button (F12) and now it opens a feedback form.

Also, is there an explanation available about how praetor dueling works? As far as I can tell, each praetor picks a move, that has a number as well as some type of ability, often a bonus against a specific other type of move in a rock-paper-scissors kind of way. Is it generally whoever has the higher ultimate number wins?

Also how does bribery work in praetor fights? It appears that the high bidder (if anyone) gets a bonus in the fight...but how much of a bonus?

There are worse events, though. At least the hell hounds (or striders or whatever they're called) can be useful in training up legions.

I still can't figure out how to take a screenshot, but for the viewing public, here's a summary of who's who, with current prestige totals on turn 15:

AWS260 - Andromalius, 31
El Guapo - Lilith, 22
Archinerd - Erzsebet, 10
Zarathud - Astaroth, 42
Baelthazar - Belial, 76

A spoilered summary of my situation:
Spoiler:
I hold no places of power. Those within reach of me have already been taken.

I had two legions, but the one I had purchased was destroyed by an event, so I'm down to my starting legion. It's not a very good legion - high Infernal skill, but not enough hit points to survive long enough to use it.

I am heavily invested in Charisma. This would be great if we were playing the original Solium Infernum, where Charisma was far and away the most important trait. But this new SI is better balanced. Charisma is no longer OP, and it doesn't do anything to help you take places of power or win fights in the field.

I'm pretty sure that there's no way I can win, already. And so I've sent a message to Zarathud to float the idea of becoming his blood vassal.

Windows PrintScreen or CTRL-PrintScreen or Alt=PrintScreen? and then paste into an editor, like bitmap? That's what I do. But if it's a hassle, don't worry about it. You don't need to do chores just for my benefit.

How the hell is Belial getting all that prestige? Are you all rolling over at his feet?
