DVD drive stopped reading Cds

I have a DVD/RW with CD/RW drive. It suddenly stopped recognizing, reading and writing to CDs. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I can do to try and fix this?

Probably not...but I like to blame everything on it anyway :D
