MOG Hydra in Action

Post by tals »

One of the guys in a small (70 people) gaming list we have, runs what can only be termed a Hydra. That is where one person controls at the same time multiple characters in game in this case 5. Effectively changing how the game works and to be honest creating a much bigger challenge.

Having being at the other side of the Hydra (always wondered how th eheck it was done) - i.e in game I found this video fascinating. Quite something.

Holy old thread bumping batman!

Its perfectly legal. I've know Scott Adams personally for about 15 years, its what he likes to do, so more power to him. I personally don't like the idea of it, MMOs are supposed to be about interaction with people, not creating your own imaginary group you control. :-)

I'm the godfather of a product he uses now to do this MUCH more efficiently, and since that video, hes about 500% more efficient. He can control all of his characters from a single PC now. So i'm probably guilty of helping with this.. LOL!

It requires XVID Codecs. Grab the K-Lite Mega Pack here:

All you need, even does quicktimes and realmedia all within MPC. Awesome.

Have to say I was surprised first time round that no comments came about - regardless of the pros and cons its still an impressive control system and probably something the original MOG devs never envisaged would be done :)

I'd agree - certainly wouldn't encourage me to give it a go, not to mention that each character represents a monthly subscription so is very expensive as well.
