[WW] Danger Zone REDUX! -- Night 3
Confusion derailed the earlier incarnation, but now we're back for a fresh start!
The two teams are ISIS and the Assassins. ISIS has four specials (one of them ambiguous). There are 2 assassins, or 3 if there are more than 12 players in the game.
Changes to earlier game rules:
--Cheryl now has a one-time scan, usable day or night.
--Conway has lost his ability to hide from Malory's scan.
ISIS Specials:
Sterling Archer -- "Are we seriously not doing phrasing?"
The world's greatest secret agent, probably. (1) You automatically survive the first attempt to lynch OR assassinate you. You are notified when you lose this protection. This power resembles Barry's. (2) Rampage: if you are alive after *both* Lana and Katya are eliminated, you gain the one-time power (available from the following night) to eliminate one player during a night turn. Players are told only that the target was eliminated. (If Barry is the target, he survives--and Archer is told--if this is the first attempt against him.)
Lana Kane -- "Since when is babysitting Archer my j -- oh my God, that's exactly my job."
Expert operative. Every night you choose a player to protect from assassination, not yourself and never the same twice in a row. You are not informed when you successfully protect someone. Your death (with Katya's) ignites Archer's Rampage power.
Malory Archer -- "Well then you better nut up!"
Head of ISIS. Every night you scan another player's alignment.
Cheryl Tunt -- "You're not my supervisor!"
Big mouth. Once per game (day or night, including the first turn) you may scan the alignment of a player of your choice. When you are eliminated by any means, the assassins learn the specific role of a living ISIS player, chosen randomly.
ISIS Regulars:
Cyril Figgis -- "Jeezy-petes!"
Comptroller and sex addict. No power.
Pam Poovey -- "Damn dog! That's Inappropes!"
Human Resources. No power.
"Dr." Algernop Krieger -- "It's a proprietary blend."
Experimental drugs. No power.
Ray Gillette -- "Dukes!"
Future cyborg. No powers.
Woodhouse -- "I shall fetch a rug."
Faithful manservant. No powers.
Brett Bunsen -- "God damn it, [insert name of whoever shot him]!"
Bullet magnet. No powers.
And in this game (with 15 players) we have two other ISIS Regulars with identities to be revealed at the end.
Assassins:
Barry Dylan -- "Barry, does this make up for Framboise? It does, Other Barry. It sure does."
Relentless cyborg. Just like Archer, you will survive the first lynch against you. The second lynch attempt succeeds.
Katya Kazanova -- "This man, Sterling Archer, is the world's most dangerous spy. And he is the man I will marry."
Beautiful cyborg. Once per game, you can declare that the night assassination will ignore Lana's protection. Your death (with Lana's) ignites Archer's Rampage power.
Conway Stern -- "You, uh, see something you like?"
One step ahead. No special power.

ADDITIONAL RULES AND CLARIFICATIONS:
Please remember these rules.
--While the full slate of roles above exists for flavor, ISIS Regular identities have no effect in the game, and they will be notified only that they are Regulars. (e.g. Cyril doesn't know he is Cyril, just that he is a villager.)
--Voting is settled as soon as a true majority is reached; no takebacks from that point.
--Hopefully time limits will not be necessary. If things drag, I'll set a limit some days out. If a time limit is reached, plurality counts as majority and a tie means no lynch.
--If you have direct questions for the moderator, please bold them in red text so I'll be sure to see them.
Or PM me.
--Any flavor text I give is just that. Don't look for hints or confirmations in it.
--If Archer targets his Rampage on the same character that the Assassins murder that night, the Rampage is unused and Archer retains the ability.

That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad.

Maybe we should take hte CR approach...and everyone PM him and ask nicely..twice..and keep asking him...and asking...asking..until we have beaten down his will to say no and yes is the only respite from the onslought of queries.bb2112 wrote:From the original game we are still missing:

as a side note, if you named the isisagent roles, it needs to be generic, and public as to what msg was sent
"You are a Normal Agent" for example

Re: [WW] Danger Zone REDUX! -- Soliciting Players
For 2 reasons.
A collective of Normal Agents with Names could have staged a roll/role call, thereby sorting the game into Specials in a Box versus Normal Guys with names.
Secondly, without a public generic notice, I once attempted to manipulate the game as an "Innocent" (the PM) verus the standard "Villager" prior to that game.

In the last game, I notified regulars only that they were regulars. Cyril didn't know he was Cyril, just a villager. I'll do that again this time.
I'll make a note of this in the rules.

Ok, seemed like somebody had said they were a specific agent and I was wondering (since I was an Assassin, then in the rebrand I was Lana, I never saw a "Normal" PM)

You are not getting off that easy. Besides, in this game there should only be one starting PM, so you have a 50/50 shot of knowing who you are.Moliere wrote:In as the sacrificial Day 1 kill.

Roles calibrated. Assignments were random with no massagery applied. ISIS regulars will be told only that they are regulars.
I'll start sending out PM's shortly, and I'll announce when they've all been received.

Oh can we have deadlines, like say 10 days for day 1? Or something, with the holiday weekend coming up counting as 1 day (ie friday- monday counting as 1 day). Just so we dont have such a damn slog like last time...but then again folks might see me too much of a threat so i might not even see day 1

We need to add someone last minute and redo the roles.

I actually did that, but this time it was just *before* sending roles out...Vorret wrote:We need to add someone last minute and redo the roles.

Re: [WW] Danger Zone REDUX! -- Soliciting Players
At one time I thought as a joke it would be funny to have a game where unbeknownst to the players there were no bad guys, everyone was good, and I just randomly selected someone to kill at night. Toward the end I would reveal that everyone was in an insane asylum (driven crazy from playing too much WW game) and that the bad guys were all in their head and the night deaths were just suicides.Unagi wrote:I just want to say right now, that you (probably) missed a great opportunity here to make EVERYONE Cheryl Tunt and just randomly kill one of us each night and see the hilarity ensue.
But my better judgement said it may not be to funny to the ones playing.
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

Sheesh, this is one small box. Thankfully, everything's packed in nicely this time. Not too tight nor too loose (someone's sig in 3, 2, ...). - Hepcat
