61 on Metacritic? oof. This is right in my wheelhouse, but pass.JetFred wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2017 3:04 pm Just crap is on sale now since the sale is this week. Question, though...
Is Sword Coast Legends worth buying for $5 for the single player before Steam takes it down after Christmas? Anything I look at online is a ton of babies spitting at each other like the rest of the internet.
61 to ME, means = this is not even worth your time installing, much less paying for at a low, low price, then playing a little.
Edit: OK, just watched the videos. Wow. Even with that score, I might have to try it. Some of my respected review sites called it "boring, uninteresting half finished and uninspired", which is a pretty big blow.
Also damning:
"You won’t find the fast-paced action of Diablo, or the tactical challenge of Dragon Age: Origins or Pillars of Eternity. Whatever you are looking for, you will probably find it somewhere else in a better game that you already own."
And: "Indifference. You will feel absolutely nothing when playing Sword Coast Legends. There are a lot of elements that make a good RPG, but they do not meld into a coherent whole."
Maybe the fact that I only care about the single player campaign, and am COMPLETELY fine with old school mechanics (BG) and graphics, means that this title would be ok for someone in my niche (actually the graphics look great in the videos).
