Re: Stray
I would be in day 1 but I don't want to pay full price for a 4-5 hour game unless I hear a bunch of brilliant reviews.

Re: Stray
Downloaded this with the hope my wife will dig it. She wants to play games, but is convinced she cannot handle the controller. This looks like a nice, low-pressure game that will perhaps change her mind.

My wife is a big reason I'm installing today. She's watching though, not playing.
She feels the same way about controllers and was going to give Astrobot's Playroom a try. It took so long to get a PS that she lost interest.

I've mostly been avoiding any p/reviews, but it looks like it's getting positive attention.coopasonic wrote: ↑Tue Jul 19, 2022 4:17 pm I would be in day 1 but I don't want to pay full price for a 4-5 hour game unless I hear a bunch of brilliant reviews.
Full price for this one on Steam is $30.

Re: Stray
I also didn't watch anything about this and just <jump>ed into it.
I'm about 30-50 minutes into the game.
It's beautifully done. The motions of the cat feel great. There is a meow button.
So far, it's very easy - almost more of a tour... but I can see it's very slowly ramping my world up a bit... But I can't tell how hard it will get (I'm actually happy just jumping around as this cat!!)
If you like cats, this will charm you from the first 5 seconds of play.

Re: Stray
I started it tonight and agree - cat owners will immediately notice the attention to detail of the cat's animations and behavior.
My cats weren't in the room when I started playing, but I can't wait to see if I can trigger them with the meow button.

Re: Stray
A billion years ago there were two games by Sanctuary Woods, “Lion” was one and the other was “Wolf”.
I loved both of those games back in the day, so I would love to see more, especially if they are realistic.
Stray still keeps one foot in the human RPG pool, and it would be fun to drop that entirely.

I am so 100% in on this. They really need to get this out on the Switch. I assume it's a Sony/PC exclusive for now.

Re: Stray
I upgrades to PS Plus extra for $31 so the kids and I could play Stray. Hopefully, we'll find something else in the library between now and next April to justify that cost.
Finished the game in just a hair under 4 hours. It was entertaining and the puzzle bits were fine. It was a worthwhile experience, but in no way worth $30.

Re: Stray
Well, this is probably one reason why it was at the price point. I really liked it!
