[movie] Gods of Egypt
Well, an Egypt that must be located in a Scandinavian country.
That issue aside, it sure does have a lot of CGI.

Re: [movie] Gods of Egypt
Everyone knows that the ancient Egyptians build the Pyramids in Egypt because that's where they stayed for the winter - rest of the year they lived around Stockholm. But obviously you don't want to bring a winter's worth of grain with you on the winter trip.
It's just common sense, really. Kind of embarrassing that I have to spell it out for you.

Re: [movie] Gods of Egypt
You've just now made me realize that an ancient Viking Egyptian would be the coolest damn thing to ever walk this Earth. Well, other than a Tyrannosaurus Rex with cybernetic implants and a laser eye. But that one is just out of reach of current technology.
p.s. I still predict Gods of Egypt will be more entertaining and historically correct than Exodus: Gods and Kings.

Based on the trailer, I expect this movie to suck. Really really bad. And not because of the lack of racial diversity. It just looks bad.
I'll likely steam it sometime while I'm exercising. But I don't think I'll go out of my way.

Well, Clash of the Titans (remake) made $493M worldwide and Wrath took home $305M. Both did most of the business overseas. If they keep it fun and don't go wild with the budget, it could do ok. We might not be the target audience.

Diversity? The problem wasn't diversity.

Officially bombed?
Production Budget: $140 million
Worldwide: $40,382,577
I know it's only been a week, but still not a good start.

Re: [movie] Gods of Egypt
My wife loves stuff about Egypt, and she has no regard for bad CGI. When this trailer came on, I saw her eyes just light up and I turned to her and said "NO. JUST NO."
I know I'm really a terrible person, but I like to think I'm protecting her from herself.
