What do you like better?
I had my hair straightened today for the first time ever. I kind-of like it, but it's a lot of work and I can't figure out if I like it enough that it's worth the effort. SO... I'm posting a pic of it straight and a pic of it curly and I want opinions. (Don't let the poor quality of the straight one affect your decision, it's from my work webcam and totally washes everyone out, as do the overhead lights there).
So, option 1: Straight:
Or, option 2: Curly:

Wives are silly (well at least this particular wife is, but I'm willing to extrapolate here). They can manage to get upset with "Gah, it doesn't really matter to me what you do with it."Coskesh wrote:Guess the more important question is what does Neal like better? :p
NOT THAT I'D EVER SAY THAT. She'd go S(h)inead O'Connor faster than you could say Mop-N-Glo.
Honestly though, I can't decide. I'm still looking at her with the straight hair and feel like I'm messing around with some other guy's wife. It's rather fun, admittedly, but clouds my long-term perspective.

I once had a girlfriend that had naturally curly hair. Every now and again, she'd straighten it, and I had the same feeling. The Meal wrote: I'm still looking at her with the straight hair and feel like I'm messing around with some other guy's wife.
Really, when you get down to it, you can't go wrong.

Depends what look you're tring for. The straight hair is a more conservative look. The curly hair gives one the sense of "a wild and crazy gal".
If you want to look more professional for work and such go straight. If you want to be "a wild and crazy gal" go for curly.
(hows that for saying "I don't know?")

My wife and I need a better comparative example. She comments, "Her husband should take a picture of both ways at home, they have a digital camera right?"
Ok, so to expand, we think Mr. Meal should take a pic at your house in the same spot 2 mornings in a row - like just against a wall. One morning before work do your hair curly and snap a pic, then the next morning do it straight and snap a pic. Cause to be honest, you look like 2 totally different people hehe. And I can't comment on how nice you may look as I will have very bad bruising on my arm...
No vote for right now

Yeah, the webcam doesn't do her justice. That being said, the chances of getting her to mug for me behind the digital camera are rather slim. Something about the combination of me taking pictures of her, posing, with clothing on, just doesn't lead to photos she deems are "appropriate for the world." Personally, I think she's nuts (she photographs just fine, thank you very much), but if a little mis-placed self-doubt is her worst fault, then I'm doing just fine.
(And I'm doing way better than fine!)

Uh, does that mean that you taking pictures of her, posing, with clothing off, does lead to photos she deems are "appropriate for the world"? I'm just trying really hard to understand right nowThe Meal wrote:Something about the combination of me taking pictures of her, posing, with clothing on, just doesn't lead to photos she deems are "appropriate for the world."

You know, I'm looking over the straight hair pic and imagining it with your actual hair color and now I'm thinking I may have to change my vote - even with the extra work it entails.
But, hell, this is the same flip-flopping I delve in to when the girlfriend drops roughly 87 pics on the bed and asks "So how should I cut my hair?" so I'm best ignored.

This totally cracks me up because my ex-wife and I would have this same discussion. She has naturally curly hair (tm) but she loves straightening it because it flows "like the girls' in the shampoo commercials". I preferred the curly hair because it's sexier to me.
In all my 34 years on this planet, I've come to the conclusion that women want the hair they don't have by nature. Straight-haired women stare longingly at women with curls and will either get an expensive perm or spend hours curling it. Curly-haired women sigh as they look at the women with straight hair and spend hours straightening it out so they can try all those hairstyles that only work with straight hair.
My opinion, keep the curls. They are a part of what makes you, you.

curly hair = Hello. You're not really my type.
straight hair = Hello. How YOU doin'?
So, I voted straight

I'm of the suicidal "you will look great whatever. So do what makes you happy" crowd. Why does that start arguments?
Given the choice, I think that girls with curly hair who straighten it tend to have the best looking hair. It's like straight hair, except with a lot more body. This is better as the hair gets longer. (God. I feel like I need to trade my penis in now.) So from a picture perspective go with the straight hair. However, damaged curly straightened hair feels the worst to lie up against, and if your other is strong into tacit sensation, then strightened hair is not the hair you want to be snuggled up into staring at a starry sky at 04:00 in the morning. And no, gallons of conditioner does not help as much as you think. Finally, the sheer amount of time it takes to "do your hair" is insane. My ex- in particular spent 45 minutes a day straightening her curly hair and heaven forbid we were going somewhere nice.
Again, it's entirely your (in the generic women getting ready sense) judgement call, but those are the important factors me. Straight looks better, but who the hell wants the headache? Keep is curly and straighten it for the change up. Neal will know (and not have to devine) when you are going to be the benefactor of a special night when he comes home to drastic change in hairstyle.
